The draft of the 2017 Eddy & Wells Counties Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan update is now available for review. The draft is available on the websites for Eddy County and Wells County, and the cities of Harvey and New Rockford. A printed copy is also available at the Eddy County Courthouse and Wells County Courthouse.
A public hearing to accept comments on the 2017 Eddy & Wells Counties Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at the KTL Building located at 600 Railway Street in Fessenden, ND. The public hearing will review the draft plan, results from the mitigation survey and public comments received. The public hearing will close at 7:00 p.m., and the Plan Update Committee meeting will be held immediately thereafter from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
The committee will review comments received, approve participation by local jurisdictions, and approve the draft plan to be submitted to the N.D. Dept. of Emergency Services (NDDES) and to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for approval. Once the plan receives approval pending-adoption, each incorporated jurisdiction included in the plan must pass an adoption resolution before an official approval letter from FEMA is issued.
