(701) 947-2355 - ambulance building
Community Ambulance Service is a volunteer squad that has served Eddy County and a portion of Wells County since 1971. CAS was named EMS Squad of the Year in 1994 and 2006 and is one of the largest volunteer squads in the state.
Three ambulance vehicles fully stocked with the latest equipment round out the fleet. CAS has 38 members with various levels of training, including CPR Drivers, EMT's, an EMT-I, a Paramedic and RN's. EMT classes are offered by Jeff Pfau, a certified instructor and member of the CAS.
CAS completed construction on a new Ambulance Facility in 2012.
We maintain a close working relationship with the New Rockford Fire Department and together are certified as the Community Ambulance Service/ New Rockford Fire Department Rescue Service. It's not unusual to see a dozen fireman and 18 ambulance personnel respond to an accident scene.
We are dispatched by the Lake Region 911 Center in Devils Lake and calls come across pagers which are carried by all members. We have our call schedules set up for a year at a time with 3-5 person crews and with each member on call either days or nights one week out of each month.
