Gregory Allmaras to Speak at Eddy County Museum Ice Cream Social
July 18th, 2016 – The Eddy County Museum and Historical Society will host its annual Ice Cream Social fundraiser on Sunday, August 7th, from 1-4 p.m. at the Museum, located at 1115 1st Ave N, across from the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd.
The social includes a build-your-own old-fashioned ice cream sundae bar, with ice cream and a variety of toppings, coffee, and lemonade. The event is free will offering, with all proceeds going to the Museum’s roof repair fund.
The theme of the Museum’s summer exhibit is “Scouting Organizations in Eddy County History”. The event will feature guest speaker Gregory Allmaras, formerly of New Rockford, who will discuss his experiences with scouting. Allmaras achieved the highest scouting level of Eagle Scout, as well as membership in the Order of the Arrow, and the Boy Scouts Church Award “Ad Altare Dei”. Allmaras will give his presentation at 2 p.m. at the Church building of the Museum.
Guided tours will be available throughout the event, as well as new activities for kids. New scavenger hunts will be available, as well as sack races and a knot-tying activity with Mr. Allmaras.
The Eddy County Museum is open Sundays from 1-4 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Please contact Jessica at 947-2205 with any questions, and find the Eddy County Museum on Facebook for photos and updates.
