Chamber-Lions Fireworks Fundraiser Draws a Crowd
February 19th, 2013 – Despite the frosty temperature, more than 130 people came out to the New Rockford Eagles Club on February 10 for baked potatoes, dessert and bingo at the Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club Fireworks Fundraiser. Members of the Lions Club and the board members of the Chamber of Commerce brought, prepared, and served up the food, as well as running 15 games of bingo.
The free will baked potato bar and bingo games brought in $1047 dollars, to which the Eagles Club added a generous $500 donation. All proceeds will be used to help pay for the traditional 4th of July dusk fireworks display, a favorite annual event of residents and visitors alike. The fireworks are sponsored each year by the New Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce, and the display is presented by the volunteer firemen at North Park.
