5th Annual Firecracker 5k Run/Walk Open for Registration

May 18th, 2015 – Rockin’ Fitness will hold its annual Firecracker 5k Run/Walk at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 4th. The race will begin in the Archie and Jessie Campbell Memorial Park on the north side of the James River, wind 3.1 miles through town, and end back in the park. Check-in and registration will be open at 7:30 a.m.
Pre-registration is open now - entry for adult participants is $25 before June 18 or $35 from June 19 until race day. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. Youth runners (12 and under) may register for $15 at any time, but will only be guaranteed a t-shirt if pre-registered. Prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories.
Rockin’ Fitness manager Kathy Teschner says, “We are really looking forward to a great crowd at this year’s Firecracker. We usually register around 80 runners and walkers, but with the all-school reunion this year we are hoping to see groups of classmates or families walking for the first time!” The race finishes in plenty of time for participants to head downtown to watch or participate in the annual parade at 10:00 a.m.
