Rockin' Fitness to Host Personal Trainer Certification Course
December 16th, 2014 – Rockin’ Fitness in New Rockford will host a Personal Trainer certification workshop by NETA, the non-profit National Exercise Trainers Association, at the fitness center on March 21 and 22. The certification workshop is open to any member of the public.
From NETA’s website, “Those who become a Certified Personal Trainer through NETA learn how to safely challenge and motivate clients to reach their fitness goals. The curriculum and exams are continuously updated to stay on the cutting edge of the fitness industry. Topics include: Exercise Science, Health & Fitness Assessments, Exercise Programming for Healthy Adults, Exposure to Cardiovascular & Strength Training Equipment, and Dynamics of Communication & Leadership Skills.”
NETA recommends that participants begin studying the workbook and materials for the course at least one to two months prior to the workshop weekend. The two days of practical work and test preparations at the facility lead up to the certification exam. Students who pass the exam will receive their Personal Trainer certification. NETA's Personal Trainer Certification is accredited by NCCA (National Commission for Certifying Agencies).
Rockin’ Fitness manager Brittany Allmaras says, “This is an enormous opportunity for our community and the region. We will be training several of our own staff members to provide better services to members, and hope more people will take advantage of this chance to advance their fitness careers.”
Registration fees are $399 per student prior to February 19th, or $449 per student after that date. This fee includes the workshop, exam, and two year certification upon satisfactory completion of the exam. Students are also responsible for purchasing their study manual or any additional test preparation materials, all available on NETA’s website.
