Bruce Hirchert Hired as New Rockford Public Works Superintendent

April 7th, 2014 – The City of New Rockford has hired Bruce Hirchert as Public Works Superintendent, effective April 1, 2014. Hirchert has been employed by the city for the past 12 years as assistant to the Public Works Superintendent and general laborer.

The responsibilities of the Public Works Superintendent include maintaining water, sewer, and garbage service, street cleaning and maintenance, snow removal, mosquito fogging, groundskeeping and maintenance on city properties, and managing city employees. Regarding his new position, Hirchert says, “I’m very excited to serve the city as Public Works Superintendent. I’m looking forward to serving the citizens of New Rockford.”

Hirchert, a resident of New Rockford for 37 years, is currently Fire Chief for New Rockford Fire and Rescue, active in the Lions Club and First Lutheran Church Board, and serves as an official for local and regional sports. His wife, Jodi, owns and operates a daycare in their home. Their daughter Carissa lives in New Rockford and teaches at Four Winds School, and son Tyrell is married and lives in Loveland, CO, where he works as a school psychologist. Hirchert is the son of longtime New Rockford resident Sharon Hirchert.
