Eddy County Museum Ice Cream Social Draws Crowd
August 19th, 2013 – The Eddy County Museum and Historical Society held its annual Ice Cream Social fundraiser on Sunday, August 18th, welcoming a crowd of more than 100 guests steadily throughout the afternoon. Visitors took tours of the Museum and enjoyed ice cream sundaes, coffee, and lemonade. Younger guests also took part in a Museum Scavenger Hunt, seeking out a list of specific items in the collection for prizes.
The free-will offering event raised funds for the museum, which will be used for general operations, new exhibits, and preservation projects.
The social also included special recognition of retiring board members Bill Starke and Charlie Richter, thanking them for their many years of dedicated service to the Museum. A certificate was presented to each on behalf of the Historical Society by board president Jessica Dillon.
The Eddy County Museum is open Sundays from 1-4 pm between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Please contact Jessica at 947-2205 with any questions, and find the Museum on Facebook for photos and updates.
