Six Complete Personal Trainer Certification Workshop at Rockin’ Fitness
March 24th, 2015 – Rockin’ Fitness in New Rockford hosted a Personal Trainer certification workshop by NETA, the non-profit National Exercise Trainers Association, at the fitness center on March 21 and 22. Six students completed the workshop and submitted their exams for full certification.
The workshop was presented by NETA instructor Jimmie Johnson of Cambridge, MN. Johnson has instructed workshops for NETA for the past ten years, and owns and operates a martial arts/fitness studio in Cambridge.
Students prepared in advance through self-guided study, and then completed 14 hours of lecture and hands-on practice at the workshop. Topics covered included health and fitness assessments, communication and motivation, nutrition, healthy weight management, anatomy and movement, exercise science, and designing programs for different types of clients and their goals.
Those in attendance at the workshop were Kathy Teschner, Cherry Heinz, Jessica Dillon, Rachelle Evitt, Samantha Myhre, and William Schaffan. Contingent on exam results, Rockin’ Fitness plans to offer personal training services and additional classes and programming with the assistance of some of the newly-certified local trainers.
