Register for Youth Baseball and Swimming Activities
April 15, 2014 - The New Rockford Park District will hold registration for summer youth baseball programs and swimming activities on Thursday, May 1 at the Eagles Club from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The Baseball programs include Tee Ball for ages 6-8, Coach Pitch for ages 9-10, Cal Ripken for ages 11-12 and Babe Ruth for ages 13-15. To meet the age requirements for each category, whatever age the child is on April 30, 2014, is the category they will be placed. The programs begin June 2 with a fee of $35 for Tee Ball and Coach Pitch and $50 for Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth. Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth participants need to bring a copy of their birth certificates.
Registration for swimming lessons and single and family pool passes will also be available. The cost of swimming lessons is $30 per child. Single season passes are $50 and family season passes are $100. Dates and information about swimming lessons will be made available.
The youth baseball programs will be experiencing some exciting events this year. The New Rockford Park District will be hosting two major tournaments this summer. The Non-Advancing State Cal Ripken Tournament will be held again in New Rockford on July 18-20 and is expecting even more teams to participate. The City of New Rockford has also been selected to hold the State Babe Ruth State Championship Tournament on July 31- August 5. The New Rockford Babe Ruth team will gain an automatic entry as the host team and play in a championship tournament with seven other teams from around the state.
