NRABC Hires Amanda Hegland as Executive Director
January 2, 2018 – The New Rockford Area Betterment Corporation welcomes Amanda Hegland as its new Executive Director.
Amanda Hegland is originally from Gettysburg, SD and holds a B.A degree in Mass Communication from South Dakota State University. She moved to the area three years ago when she married Jake Hegland, an area farmer and rancher from the Oberon area. They have two children, Fallyn, age 2, and Piper, age 3 months.
Hegland most recently served as a Regional Senior Admissions Counselor for Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD, for the past 13 years. She was also on the board of directors for the Dakota Association for College Admission Counseling, as well as serving on the executive board for the Council on College Admission in South Dakota. Before working at Northern State University, Hegland worked as a marketing coordinator for National American University in Rapid City, SD.
Hegland brings extensive experience with public relations, event organization, group leadership, marketing, and project management to the new position.
“I am so excited to work in this position, and to be in this community. There is a lot of great things happening in the area. There is quite a bit to learn,” Hegland says, “but I will strive to serve the community’s best interest, and look forward to getting to know the people and businesses of New Rockford. My door is always open, and I hope members of the community will feel welcome to come on in and say hello.”
Jessica Dillon, former Executive Director for the New Rockford Area Betterment Corporation, will now be managing Rockin' Fitness, as well as continuing to contribute to some of the NRABC's community development programs such as the New Rockford Community Foundation and City of New Rockford website. “We are so fortunate to have Jessica stay on with the NRABC in her new capacity. Her wealth of knowledge and service to the community is very valuable,” Hegland said.
