Rockin' Fitness to Host Personal Trainer Certification Course
August 5, 2016 – Rockin’ Fitness in New Rockford will host a Personal Trainer Certification workshop by NETA, the non-profit National Exercise Trainers Association, at the fitness center on December 3 and 4, 2016. The certification workshop is open to any member of the public.
Rockin’ Fitness manager Kathy Teschner says, “We are thrilled to partner with NETA again to help motivated individuals in our region advance their fitness knowledge and careers.” Rockin’ Fitness hosted their first NETA Personal Trainer Certification workshop in March 2015, certifying six trainers, including Rockin’ Fitness current staff trainers Teschner and Jessica Dillon.
Dillon adds, “Since earning my certification last year, I have worked with more than a dozen clients at Rockin’ Fitness to help them identify and make progress towards their health and fitness goals. It’s fun and rewarding to provide people with the skills, answers, and support they need to make real, lasting change in their own lives.”
The NETA certification is nationally recognized in the fitness industry and is valid for two years upon passing the exam. Topics covered at the workshop will include: Exercise Science, Health & Fitness Assessments, Exercise Programming for Healthy Adults, Principles of Nutrition & Weight Management, and Dynamics of Communication & Leadership Skills.
NETA recommends that participants begin studying the Personal Trainer Certification workbook and materials for the course at least two months prior to the workshop weekend. Current adult CPR/AED certification is also required for participants. The New Rockford Ambulance will provide three opportunities to earn this credential prior to the NETA workshop, on September 26, October 24, and November 28 (visit www.newrockfordambulance.com or call 947-2355 to register for a one-evening CPR class).
The two days of practical work and test preparations at the workshop (December 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and December 4 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) lead up to the certification exam from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 4. Students who pass the exam will receive their Personal Trainer Certification, accredited by NCCA.
Registration fees are $399 per student prior to November 2, or $449 per student after that date. This fee includes the workshop, exam, and two year certification. Students are also responsible for purchasing their study manual or any additional test preparation materials, all available on NETA’s website.
