Calling All Girl Scouts, Past and Present
October 9th, 2012 – In celebration of the 100th year of Girl Scouting, the Dakota Horizons council has been invited to decorate a giant Christmas tree inside the State Capitol Building in Pierre, SD. All Dakota Horizons troops, including our own New Rockford-Sheyenne Girl Scouts, are invited to create and submit an ornament for this festive monument.
The local troop has designed an ornament that will include a photo of all area girls and women who were ever Girl Scouts, whether it was five, twenty, or sixty years ago. To take part in this historic picture, ladies young and old may come to the Brown Memorial in New Rockford at noon on October 20 for a quick, casual photo shoot.
Please contact Amy Smith with any questions at 650-0227, and watch for Scouts selling candy, chocolate and snack mixes now through Oct 21.
