Dakota Spark Fall Classes Start October 1st
DPRCA’s Dakota Spark creative arts program will be offering classes in dance and visual arts this fall. Dance instructor Inez Dunn will offer three classes, each will meet for a six week session and focus on ballet and tap.
Students in pre-K or Kindergarten can register for the First Steps class, which starts October 3rd and continues until November 14th. The First Steps class will meet on Thursdays from 4:15 to 4:45. The cost is $50 per session.
The Beginners Dance Class is open to students grades 1-6 and will start on October 1st and met on Tuesdays from 4:30- 5:15. The cost is $60 per session.
Students with previous dance instruction can register for the Intermediate Class, which begins October 1st and meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:10. The cost for the intermediate class is $100. All dance classes meet at the DPRCA Dance Studio located on Central Avenue in New Rockford.
Visual Arts instructor Josh Williams will offer art classes at the DPRCA Old Church Theatre. Students will meet for fours weeks to explore artistic expression through a variety of medium. Session 1, for grades 1-6, starts October 7 and will meet on Mondays from 3:30- 5:30.
Session 2, for grades 7-12, starts November 18 and also meets on Mondays from 3:30- 5:30. The cost for each session is $75, plus a $25 supply fee.
Dakota Spark began this past summer and offered creative opportunities in fine arts, theatre, dance, music, writing, and language to more than 150 area youth. Registration forms are available at the Latte Lobby.
