New Rockford Community Garden to Host Planting Party
May 14th, 2013 – The New Rockford Community Garden will host a public planting party starting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29. The Garden Committee will provide grilled burgers, cold lemonade, and expert instruction to volunteers who would like to get involved and help get the garden started for the summer.
The Community Garden is located by the NDSU Extension Office in New Rockford, one block east of Cash & Carry Lumber. Everyone is welcome to use the garden at any time throughout the summer – volunteers are always needed for planting, weeding, and harvest. Volunteers share the crop as the different vegetables ripen over the season. Any excess vegetables are donated to those who can use them in the community.
