“Tour of the World” Wine Tasting Returning to Opera House

Sept 16th, 2013
– Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts in New Rockford will host its third annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction fundraiser on Saturday, September 28th. The evening will feature an open-air wine tasting under a grand tent outdoors, a buffet of international cuisine-inspired hors d’oeuvres, live performances by Fargo-based roots music band BOOTS, and a silent and live auction.

Registration and a social hour will open at 7 p.m., followed by the wine tasting, live music, buffet, and silent auction. In addition to the silent auction, there will be a live wine auction and several games and opportunities to win raffle prizes and bottles of wine throughout the evening.

The full ticket price of $30 will include samples of twelve specially-selected wines representing wine regions from around the world. A cash bar will also be open and serving wine by the glass, beer, and mixed drinks. Special designated driver/under 21 tickets are available for $20, for those who wish to attend the event but not participate in the wine tasting.

Guests participating in the full wine tasting will receive a “passport” to fill out as they sample the different wines. The tasting’s wine list includes selections from each of three regions: the Americas (with wines from California, Washington, Chile, and Argentina), Europe (with wines from France, Germany, Italy, and Portugal), and Down Under (with wines from South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan). Servers will be trained to provide information on each wine to help guests fully experience the different offerings.

The silent auction will feature many artistic and unique items, including pieces created by local and regional artists. Items and services are still being collected for the silent auction, and theatre patrons are invited to donate an item towards the fundraising efforts. Please contact the theatre for more information on making a tax-deductible donation, or drop off an item at the Latté Lobby at any time prior to the event.

This year’s wine tasting is sponsored by the New Rockford Eagles Club, Warren Implement, Agri-Cover, Millers Fresh Foods, and Gavilon Grain. As DPRCA’s primary annual fundraiser, all proceeds from the event will be used to continue providing arts and cultural programming to the region.

Mark your calendar and get your tickets now for the gala event of the season! Tickets are limited, so contact the theatre at (701) 947-2174 or stop by the Latté Lobby for more information or to make your reservations.
