Chamber of Commerce “Stars and Jars” Helps Fund Fireworks Display
July 22nd, 2014 – The Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Stars and Jars” fireworks fundraiser campaign collected nearly $1500 this year. The highest amount of funds were raised at Miller’s Fresh Foods, where more than $900 worth of Stars were purchased by members of the public in support of the display.
The 4th of July fireworks show, always free to the public, currently costs the Chamber around $3500 each year, and is managed by the New Rockford Fire Department. The 4th of July fireworks tradition is cherished by many, and will hopefully be upheld for many years to come, thanks to the generosity of the community and the volunteer efforts of the Fire Department. The New Rockford Lions Club also provided a sustaining gift of $500 towards the fireworks program.
Keep an eye out for the Chamber Monday Night Madness Football Raffle tickets, the proceeds from which also support the annual fireworks display, on sale now from all Chamber board members. Contact Chamber president Jessica Dillon at (701) 947-2205 with any questions or to purchase a $10 raffle ticket.
