New Rockford Hosting Cal Ripken Youth Baseball Tournament
The New Rockford Park District will host the State Cal Ripken Non-Advancing Tournament June 19 and 20 at the Archie and Jessie Campbell Memorial Park on the north side of the town. The SNR Jr. Black Sox, ages 11 and 12, will play in the Cal Ripken tournament along with Carrington, Grafton and Jamestown.
“We are excited to bring this tournament to New Rockford,” says New Rockford Park Board President Judy Allmaras, “We are proud to showcase our community while providing fun activities for our kids”.
Games will begin on Friday morning opening with the SNR Jr. Black Sox playing Carrington at 10:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day Friday and Saturday. The Championship game will take place on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
The two-day tournament will take place on the south field of the park and feature concessions and T-shirt sales. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students, and pre-school and younger are free.
