Dakota Spark: Tour of Arts Student Art Exhibit
May 14th, 2013 – Students from the Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts will have their artwork on display after completing the first class session of the Dakota Spark creative arts program, Tour of Arts. The students worked with instructor Josh Williams to create a series of visual art pieces in a wide range of media.
The student art exhibit, featuring artists in grades 3-10, will be located at the Opera House theatre at 818 Central Ave in New Rockford. The temporary gallery will be open in the theatre from 12:00-5:00 p.m. Friday May 24, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday May 25, and the following Tuesday through Friday, May 28-31, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Dakota Spark is the new summer creative arts program offered by the Dakota Prairie Regional Center for the Arts in New Rockford. This summer, four class series will be offered for students grades Pre-K through 12, providing experiences in visual arts, theatre, music, dance, language and writing, and more. The next class is the Opera House Youth Actors older session, starting May 29; Dance Camp, starting June 17; the younger section of Opera House Youth Actors on July 10; and the Studio Arts Class series starting July 29.
Registration forms have been sent home through the schools with elementary students, and are also available at the Latté Lobby coffee shop or online at www.dprca.com/classes/dakotaspark.
