Personal Training Services Now Available at Rockin’ Fitness

June 1st, 2015 – Rockin’ Fitness in New Rockford is now staffing two certified personal trainers to offer one-on-one or small group training services to clients in the fitness facility.

Kathy Teschner, manager of Rockin’ Fitness, and Jessica Dillon, the yoga and core fitness instructor for the gym, have both successfully completed their certifications through the National Exercise Trainers Association for Personal Training. Services are fully insured and accredited, and both also hold current certifications in CPR/AED.

Generally speaking, a personal trainer meets with a client individually and sets plans and exercises designed to help reach that client’s goals, whether those goals are weight loss, cardiac health, increased strength or speed, overall wellness, or other personal aspirations. A trainer gets to know the client’s health history and personal needs to create a safe and effective workout plan

Rockin’ Fitness’ certified trainers each bring their own style and experience to their practice. Teschner comes from a background of dance cardio, and specializes in senior fitness, weight loss, strength training, and circuit training for all age groups. Dillon is currently a yoga and core group fitness instructor, and her specializations include building core strength, weight loss, flexibility, women’s fitness, and wellness and exercise for beginners.

The trainers say there is some misconception of what a personal trainer experience is like. Dillon says with a laugh, “Our style is less ‘drill sergeant barking down and give me twenty’ and more ‘here’s your goal, we know you can do it, and here’s how’. We’re your partners in the process, guiding you to make your own healthy choices.”

A personal training client starts out with a consultation, including a health and lifestyle discussion and goal-setting, and follows up with as many or as few training sessions as they choose. Sessions are available in 30-minute or 60-minutes, with rates per session or package deals. Group rates are also available for up to four clients training together. Scheduling is done at the mutual convenience of client and trainer, and may include daytime, evening, or weekend sessions, depending on availability.
