May 11, 2015 – The Eddy County Museum and Historical Society will open for the season on Sunday, May 24. The Museum, located at 1115 1st Ave N, across from the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, is open Sundays from 1-4 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Admission is free, with donations accepted and appreciated.

This summer the Museum will unveil the new City Hospital and Medical History Exhibit, a display of items related to the practice of medicine and dentistry in the county. Funding for the exhibit has been provided by the State Historical Society of North Dakota, the New Rockford Lions Club, the City of New Rockford, the First Lutheran Foundation, and Otter Tail Power Company.

Museum President Jessica Dillon says, “We are very excited to be so close to completing the new exhibit. It has been a long process, and our guests have been very patient with the mess while we work. We hope to have everything ready in time for the all-school reunion in July.”

The Museum welcomes volunteers to help with cleaning, exhibit work, and to serve as Sunday afternoon docents. Please contact Jessica at (701) 947-2205 with any questions, visit www.cityofnewrockford.com/museum, and find the Eddy County Museum on Facebook for photos and updates.
